We take pride in the tradition of our Catholic Faith Community!
Catholic education has been part of the Leavenworth community since 1858. Mother Xavier Ross, SCL (Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth) founded our schools and is the namesake of our Elementary School. Immaculata High School was founded in 1903, also by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, who continue to serve our community.
As a Catholic School, religious instruction is part of our daily schedule and infused within all curriculums. We make great efforts to ensure that lessons taught during these classes influence our students’ daily lives. Weekly Masses, preparation for reception of sacraments, and celebrations of holy days and holidays are all a part of our curriculum. Community service is an integral part of the life of our students.
Xavier Elementary and Immaculata High School, are the only Catholic schools in Leavenworth County. Students come from Leavenworth, Lansing, Easton, Ft. Leavenworth (including children of International Officers posted at Ft. Leavenworth), and surrounding communities including Platte City, Kansas City (Kansas), Basehor, and Bonner Springs.
Students of faith traditions other than Catholic are enrolled in the Leavenworth Catholic Schools, benefiting from the solid academic curriculum and faith based education. Seventeen percent of the current student population is from other faith traditions.
